What This Code Means
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON; Engine will not start; Engine shutdown
Possible Causes
- •Air inlet system is obstructed, modified, or damaged
- •Air inlet system obstructed, modified, or damaged
- •Backfire
- •Burn back
- •Cracks or breaks in the air inlet system
- •Cracks or breaks in the air inlet system allowing heated air to enter
- •Engine heat recirculating into the intake
- •Hot air from the engine, exhaust, or radiator is recirculating into the air inlets
- •IAT sensor voltage less than 0.050 volts for 1 second during engine cranking or running
- •Improper valve lash
- •Incorrect valve lash
- •Inlet air is much hotter than normal

- 1Adjust the valve lash accordingly
