Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON; Engine will not start; Engine shutdown

Possible Causes

  • •Air inlet system is obstructed, modified, or damaged

  • •Cracks or breaks in the air inlet system
  • •Cracks or breaks in the air inlet system allowing heated air to enter
  • •Engine heat recirculating into the intake
  • •Hot air from the engine, exhaust, or radiator is recirculating into the air inlets
  • •IAT sensor voltage less than 0.050 volts for 1 second during engine cranking or running
  • •Improper valve lash
  • •Incorrect valve lash
  • •Inlet air is much hotter than normal
