At Rudy, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Account Information: Email address, name, and password when you create an account
Profile Information: Role, equipment preferences, and notification settings
Usage Data: Questions you ask, feedback you provide, and contributions you make

Device Information: Device type, operating system, and browser type
Log Data: IP address, access times, and pages viewed
Cookies: Session cookies for authentication and preferences, plus analytics cookies if you accept them (see Section 5)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

3. AI and Machine Learning

Your queries and feedback help us improve our AI system. We may use:

We do not share your individual queries externally. Aggregated, anonymized data may be used for research and improvement.

We do NOT sell your personal information. We may share data with:

5. Cookies and Analytics

Cookies we set ourselves

Authentication: Session cookies that keep you signed in. These are strictly necessary to run the Service and are not covered by the analytics choice below.
rudy_sid: A randomly generated identifier, refreshed on use and expiring after 24 hours of inactivity, used to group page views from the same browser in our own usage counts. It holds no name, email, or other identifying detail. It is an analytics cookie, so we only set it if you accept below — decline and it is never created.
rudy_utm: If you arrive through a tagged link (an address carrying utm_ campaign labels), those labels, kept for 30 days so we can tell which page or campaign a later sign-up came from. It holds nothing beyond the labels already visible in that link — no name, email, or other identifying detail. It is an analytics cookie, so we only set it if you accept below — decline and it is never created; the labels are then held only in your browser’s memory for the current visit — they are still recorded with the usage events on our servers, as described below.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to measure product usage — which pages get visited, which features get used, and how people arrive. We use it to decide what to build next. We do not use it for advertising: ad storage, ad personalization, and ad user data are all set to denied.

When you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics stores first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_<id> in your browser. They hold a randomly generated identifier for the browser, not for you personally. Their expiry is set by Google.

Your choice, and how to change it

Analytics cookies are denied by default. On your first visit a banner asks whether you accept; until you answer, and permanently if you decline, Google Analytics runs in a consent-denied state and stores nothing on your device, and we do not set rudy_sid either.

What still happens if you decline. We want to be exact about this rather than imply more than we deliver. Google Analytics still loads and still sends cookieless signals about product usage — page views and events such as starting a signup or opening the demo — which include the page address, the referring site, your IP address and your browser's user-agent string. Nothing is stored on your device and no identifier persists between visits. Separately, we record the same usage events in our own database on our own servers; without rudy_sid those records cannot be linked into a per-browser session.

You can change your answer at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the site footer, or the button at the bottom of this page. If you withdraw consent, we also delete the analytics cookies already in your browser, including the Google Analytics cookies and rudy_sid. If you have Rudy open in more than one tab, the change applies to all of them.

Your choice is stored locally in your browser, so it is per-device and per-browser. Clearing site data will make the banner ask again.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

Encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
Regular security audits
Access controls and monitoring
Secure data centers

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

Access: Request a copy of your data
Correction: Update inaccurate information
Deletion: Request deletion of your data
Portability: Receive data in a portable format
Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. After account deletion, we may retain anonymized data for research purposes.

9. Children's Privacy

Rudy is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the Service.
