Possible Causes
- •Battery is discharged (when generator set is not running)
- •Battery charging alternator is not charging due to loose fan belt
- •Faulty battery charging alternator
- •Battery does not hold a charge
Suggested Actions
- 1Check battery voltage (should be at least 12 volts for a 12 volt system or at least 24 volts for a 24 volt system)
- 2If voltage is low and generator set is not running, recharge battery using a separate battery charger or run the engine
- 3If voltage is low and generator set is running, stop the set and check fan belt tension
- 4If fan belt tension is correct, check battery charging alternator (refer to Engine Manual)
- 5If battery does not hold a charge, replace the battery
- 6Once the cause of the alarm is rectified, clear the alarm lamp by pressing the "LAMP TEST" button
