FAIL TO SYNC

UnclassifiedGeneral

What This Code Means

Sources did not synchronize within the Fail to Sync time delay on closed-transition models

Possible Causes

  • •Generator set frequency misadjustment
  • •Incorrect inphase monitor angle
  • •Incorrect synchronization settings for voltage differential, frequency differential, or phase angle
  • •Two sources fail to come into synchronization within specified phase angle
  • •Two sources fail to come into synchronization within specified phase angle within allowed time
  • •Two sources fail to come into synchronization within specified phase angle within the allowed time (default 30 sec)

Suggested Actions

  1. 1Adjust inphase monitor angle
  2. 2Adjust the generator set frequency in order to achieve source synchronization
  3. 3Check synchronization settings for voltage differential, frequency differential, and phase angle (See TP-6714, MPAC 1500 Controller Operation Manual)
  4. 4Check the synchronization settings for voltage differential, frequency differential, and phase angle (See Controller Operation Manual)
  5. 5Connect IPM Synching output to customer-supplied equipment to boost the generator set if the sources do not synchronize
  6. 6Connect the IPM Synching output to customer-supplied equipment to boost the generator set if sources do not synchronize
  7. 7Set the programmed-transition override function to allow a programmed-transition transfer if sources do not synchronize (See TP-6714 for instructions)
  8. 8Set the programmed-transition override function to allow a programmed-transition transfer in the event that the sources do not synchronize
