DTC 327
UnclassifiedGeneral
What This Code Means
MIL (Malfunction Indicator Light) ON during active fault; Engine shutdown; DTC 327 resets during engine operation
Possible Causes
- •Knock sensor 1 signal is lower than expected for low load operation
- •Knock sensor input voltage is less than 0.001V for 3 seconds while MAP is below 10 psia
- •Intermittent problem
- •Faulty harness (open circuit)
- •Faulty harness (ground short)
- •Knock wiring in harness not properly twisted
- •Faulty knock sensor
- •Faulty ECM
Suggested Actions
- 1Perform the On-Board (OBD) System Check
- 2Operate engine at the minimum RPM and MAP defined in diagnostic calibration to see if DTC 327 resets
- 3Disconnect knock sensor from wire harness
- 4Disconnect wire harness header from ECM, carefully remove yellow lock from header at device output terminal, and check resistance between Knock 1 (+) output at ECM header and knock sensor connector (resistance should be < 5.0 ohms)
- 5Check resistance between Knock 1 (+) and ground and 5Vrtn1 (Analog Return)
- 6Inspect knock wiring in harness to verify if wiring is properly twisted
- 7Replace knock sensor and retest
- 8Replace ECM
- 9Repair or replace faulty harness
