What This Code Means

MIL on; Adaptive disabled; Throttle inlet pressure (TIP) reading less than 16 psia while manifold absolute pressure (MAP) is at or above 18 psia

Possible Causes

  • Reversed wiring or swapped connectors between the TIP and MAP sensors
  • TIP sensor not properly installed in the CAC piping
  • Loose TIP sensor retaining bolt
  • Damaged TIP sensor
  • Faulty TIP sensor

Suggested Actions

  1. 1Verify that the wiring for the TIP and MAP sensors is not reversed (TIP sensor should have three wires at the connector; MAP sensor should have four wires)
  2. 2Ensure the TIP sensor is fully installed into the CAC piping and the retaining bolt is tight
