What This Code Means
BP Low Pressure; DST displays BP less than defined in the diagnostic calibration
Possible Causes
- •Intermittent problem
- •Poor connection at sensor
- •Faulty MAP sensor
- •Faulty Harness
Suggested Actions
- 1Perform the On-Board (OBD) System Check.
- 2With Key ON, Engine Off, and System Mode set to 'Stopped', check if the DST displays BP less than defined in the diagnostic calibration.
- 3Disconnect the MAP sensor from the harness, jumper the MAP circuit to 5Vref 1 (5 VDC) in the harness connector, and with Key On, Engine Off, System Mode = 'Stopped', check if DST displays BP > 14 0 psia.
- 4Disconnect wire harness header from ECM, carefully remove the yellow lock from the header at the device output terminal, and check if the resistance between the MAP input at the ECM header and signal at the device is < 5 ohms. (Note: Probe on the side of the terminal; do not insert probes or objects into terminals to avoid spreading pins).
- 5Reconnect header to ECM, and with Key On, Engine Off, System Mode = 'Stopped', probe the MAP signal circuit with a test light connected to battery voltage to check if DST displays BP > 14 0 psia.
