What This Code Means
TPS1 voltage is greater than fault condition defined in the calibration
Possible Causes
- •Simultaneous voltage out-of-range faults for both TPS1 and TPS2
- •TPS1 voltage is greater than 4.8V or less than 0.2V AND TPS2 voltage is greater than 4.8V or less than 0.2V
- •Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) failure
Suggested Actions
- 1Disconnect throttle from harness with Key Off, then with Key On, Engine Off, System Mode 'Stopped', check if DST displays TPS1 voltage < 0.20 VDC
- 2Key ON, Engine Off, set System Mode to 'Stopped', enable 'DBW Test' mode and check if TPS1 voltage is low (< 1.00 VDC) at 0% TPS
- 3Perform the On-Board (OBD) System Check
- 4Replace the electronic throttle assembly (TPS is not serviceable)
- 5Slowly depress FP (Foot Pedal) / FPP (Foot Pedal Position) sensor while observing TPS1 voltage (or use DBW page to type desired throttle opening % in the TPS Command box for stationary applications)
- 6Troubleshoot according to TPS1 voltage out-of-range following DTC 122 and 123 procedures
- 7Troubleshoot according to TPS2 voltage out-of-range following DTC 222 and 223 procedures
