Possible Causes

• •Actual throttle position is 20% greater than the throttle command
• •Faulty ECM
• •Faulty TPS 1 signal circuit
• •Faulty signal ground circuit
• •Foreign object in throttle bore
• •Mechanical problem with the throttle
• •Stuck throttle

Suggested Actions

1. 1Remove foreign object
2. 2Repair the circuit as necessary (Refer to Wiring Repairs in Engine Electrical)
3. 3Replace ECM
4. 4Swap the throttles side to side on a G-drive engine and see if the problem moves
5. 5Test the engine with a known good throttle
