What This Code Means

DTC 327 resets

Possible Causes

  • Faulty harness (open circuit)
  • Faulty harness (ground short)
  • Faulty sensor
  • Faulty ECM
  • Intermittent Problem
  • Knock wiring in harness is not properly twisted

Suggested Actions

  1. 1Perform the On-Board (OBD) System Check
  2. 2Operate engine at the minimum RPM and MAP defined in diagnostic calibration for the knock sensor open fault
  3. 3Disconnect knock sensor from wire harness
  4. 4Disconnect wire harness header from ECM and check resistance between Knock 1 (+) output at ECM header and knock sensor connector (resistance should be <5.0 ohms)
  5. 5Check resistance between Knock 1 (+) and ground and 5Vrtn1 (Analog Return)
  6. 6Inspect knock wiring in harness to ensure it is properly twisted
  7. 7Replace knock sensor and retest
