Engine shutdown; Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON

Possible Causes

  • Misfire condition
  • Faulty turbo not making boost
  • Partial misfire from valve lash
  • Lack of compression
  • Leak in the CAC system (boots, clamps, CAC)
  • Turbo wastegate not adjusted properly
  • Leak in the CAC piping on the primary side
  • Loose CAC piping hose clamps
  • Torn silicone boots

Suggested Actions

  1. 1Check all hose clamps on the CAC piping to make sure they’re properly clamped and tight
  2. 2Check silicone boots to make sure there are no tears
  3. 3Inspect the boots and clamps located underneath the bridge over the valley of the engine by the ECUs
