327
UnclassifiedGeneral
What This Code Means
DTC 327 resets; Intermittent problem
Possible Causes
- •Intermittent Problem
- •Faulty harness (open circuit)
- •Faulty harness (ground short)
- •Wiring not properly twisted in harness
- •Faulty sensor
- •Faulty ECM
- •Faulty Harness
- •Knock wiring in harness not properly twisted
Suggested Actions
- 1Perform On-Board (OBD) System Check
- 2Operate engine at the minimum RPM and MAP defined in diagnostic calibration for the knock sensor open fault to see if DTC 327 resets
- 3Disconnect knock sensor from wire harness
- 4Disconnect wire harness header from ECM, remove yellow lock from header at device output terminal, and check resistance between Knock 1 (+) output at ECM header and knock sensor connector (resistance should be <5.0 ohms)
- 5Check resistance between Knock 1 (+) and ground and 5Vrtn1 (Analog Return) (resistance should be <5.0 ohms)
- 6Inspect knock wiring in harness to ensure wiring is properly twisted
- 7Replace faulty sensor and retest
- 8Replace faulty ECM
- 9Repair or replace faulty harness
- 10Operate engine at the minimum RPM and MAP defined in diagnostic calibration for the knock sensor open fault
- 11Disconnect wire harness header from ECM and carefully remove yellow lock from header at device output terminal
- 12Check resistance between Knock 1 (+) output at ECM header and knock sensor connector
- 13Check resistance between Knock 1 (+) and ground and 5Vrtn1 (Analog Return)
- 14Inspect knock wiring in harness to verify if it is properly twisted
- 15Replace sensor and retest
