OVERCRANK FAULT

Possible Causes

• •Controller attempts to start the generator set three times without success.
• •Corrosion in exhaust system components
• •Cracks in exhaust system components
• •Dirty air intake area.
• •Generator set does not start after three starting attempts (15 seconds crank and 15 seconds off)
• •Generator set does not start during the designated crank cycles (3 starting attempts, a 45-second pause, followed by another 3 starting attempts)
• •Leaks in exhaust system components
• •Loose exhaust system connections
• •Obstructed exhaust outlet
• •Obstructions in the operating area that could block the flow of cooling air.
• •On 20 kW models with firmware v1.4.4 or later, generator set fails to start after two crank cycles of 3 starting attempts each (with a 45-second pause between cycles)
• •Overcrank fault
• •Rags, tools, or debris on or near the generator set.
• •The controller attempts to start the generator set three times (three crank cycles, 15 seconds crank and 15 seconds off).

Suggested Actions
