HIGH COOLANT TEMPERATURE
UnclassifiedCooling
What This Code Means
Engine shutdown; Engine pressure falls below 14.2 psi (98 kPa); Engine temperature exceeds 212° F (100° C); Engine fails to start after three cranking attempts; Engine engages at an unsafe speed; Engine shuts down; Low Oil Pressure LED indicator active; High Coolant Temperature LED indicator active; Low coolant level LED indicator active; Loss of magnetic pickup LED indicator active; Engine failed to start; Overcrank Shutdown LED indicator active; Overspeed Shutdown LED indicator active; Unit will not run
Possible Causes
- •Oil pressure fell below 14.2 psi (98 kPa) detected via variable resistive values from the oil pressure sending unit
- •Engine temperature exceeded 212° F (100° C) detected via variable resistive values from the temperature sending unit
- •Engine fails to engage (start) by the third cranking attempt (pre-set at 10 seconds per attempt)
- •Engine is running at an unsafe speed (RPMs)
- •Low coolant level
- •Loss of magnetic pickup
- •Engine pressure has fallen below 15 psi
- •Engine temperature has exceeded 239 °F
- •Unit attempted to start a pre-programmed number of times and failed to start (pre-set at 3 cycles with a 10 second duration)
- •Engine is running at an unsafe speed
- •MPEC Control Switch is set to the OFF/RESET position
