FAIL TO STOP
UnclassifiedGeneral
What This Code Means
FAIL TO STOP alarm is activated; Engine does not stop when requested
Possible Causes
- •Engine Charge Alternator Voltage is non-zero
- •Engine Charge Alternator Voltage is not zero
- •Engine does not stop when requested within the Fail to Stop timer limit
- •Engine fails to meet rest detection criteria (engine speed is not zero, generator AC voltage/frequency is not zero, engine charge alternator voltage is not zero, or oil pressure sensor does not indicate low oil pressure) before the Fail to Stop timer expires.
- •Engine fails to reach rest state within the Fail to Stop timer period (requires zero engine speed via CANbus ECU, zero generator AC voltage and frequency, zero engine charge alternator voltage, and low oil pressure sensor indication)
- •Engine fails to stop when requested
- •Engine fails to stop within the time frame set by the Fail to Stop timer
- •Engine is not detected at rest (Engine speed is not zero, Generator AC Voltage and Frequency are not zero, Engine Charge Alternator Voltage is not zero, or Oil pressure sensor does not indicate low oil pressure)
- •Engine is not detected at rest because engine Charge Alternator Voltage is not zero
- •Engine is not detected at rest because engine speed is non-zero as detected by the CANbus ECU
- •Engine is not detected at rest because generator AC Voltage and Frequency are not zero
- •Engine is not detected at rest because oil pressure sensor does not indicate low oil pressure
- •Engine is not detected at rest because one or more rest conditions are not met: engine speed is not zero, generator AC voltage and frequency are not zero, engine charge alternator voltage is not zero, or oil pressure sensor does not indicate low oil pressure
- •Engine not detected at rest due to CANbus ECU detecting non-zero engine speed
- •Engine not detected at rest due to non-zero Engine Charge Alternator Voltage
- •Engine not detected at rest due to non-zero Generator AC Voltage and Frequency
- •Engine not detected at rest due to oil pressure sensor not indicating low oil pressure
- •Engine speed is detected as non-zero by the CANbus ECU
- •Engine speed is non-zero as detected by the CANbus ECU
- •Engine speed is not detected as zero by the CANbus ECU
- •Engine speed is not zero as detected by the CANbus ECU
- •Fail to Stop timer expired
- •Fail to Stop timer expired before engine stopped
- •Fail to Stop timer expired before engine-at-rest conditions were met
- •Fail to Stop timer expires
- •Fail to Stop timer expires before engine at rest conditions are met
- •Fail to Stop timer has expired
- •Fail to Stop timer setting exceeded
- •Fail to Stop timer setting expired before rest conditions were met
- •Failure to meet engine rest criteria before the Fail to Stop timer expires (Engine speed is not zero, Generator AC Voltage and Frequency are not zero, Engine Charge Alternator Voltage is not zero, or Oil pressure sensor does not indicate low oil pressure).
- •Generator AC Voltage and Frequency are non-zero
- •Generator AC Voltage and Frequency are not zero
- •Generator AC Voltage and/or Frequency is non-zero
- •Incompatible sensor
- •Module configuration mismatch with the sensor
- •Oil pressure sensor does not indicate low oil pressure
Suggested Actions
- 1Check that the sensor is compatible with the controller module
- 2Ensure Engine Charge Alternator Voltage is zero
- 3Ensure Generator AC Voltage and Frequency are zero
- 4Ensure Oil pressure sensor indicates low oil pressure
- 5Ensure engine speed is zero as detected by the CANbus ECU
- 6Ensure engine speed, generator AC voltage, alternator voltage are zero, and oil pressure is low to allow the module to detect engine at rest
- 7Ensure engine speed, generator AC voltage, frequency, and engine charge alternator voltage are all at zero to allow rest detection
- 8Ensure oil pressure sensor indicates low oil pressure to allow rest detection
- 9Enter Stop/Reset Mode to reset cleared latched alarms
- 10Enter Stop/Reset Mode to reset latched alarms (applicable once the alarms have been cleared)
- 11Enter Stop/Reset Mode to reset latched alarms once they have been cleared
- 12Enter Stop/Reset Mode to reset latched alarms once they have been cleared.
- 13Enter Stop/Reset Mode to reset latched alarms that have been cleared
- 14Verify Engine Charge Alternator Voltage is zero to allow rest detection
- 15Verify Engine Charge Alternator Voltage is zero.
- 16Verify Generator AC Voltage and Frequency are zero to allow rest detection
- 17Verify Generator AC Voltage and Frequency are zero.
- 18Verify Oil pressure sensor indicates low oil pressure to allow rest detection
- 19Verify Oil pressure sensor indicates low oil pressure.
- 20Verify engine speed is zero as detected by the CANbus ECU to allow rest detection
- 21Verify engine speed is zero as detected by the CANbus ECU.
- 22Verify that the module's configuration matches the sensor
