What This Code Means

Engine not operating normally; Stored codes present

Suggested Actions

  1. 1Remove all test equipment except the DST
  2. 2Connect any disconnected components, fuses, etc.
  3. 3Using the DST clear DTC information from the ECM
  4. 4Turn the ignition OFF and wait 30 seconds
  5. 5Start the engine and operate the vehicle to full operating temperature
  6. 6Observe the MIL
  7. 7Observe engine performance and driveability
  8. 8After operating the engine within the test parameters of DTC-142 check for any stored codes
  9. 9If engine does not operate normally or has stored codes, go to Step (9) or Go to OBD System Check
