Diagnostic Scan Tool (DST) displays ECT temperature of 220 degrees F or greater; Engine coolant temperature gauge indicates 220 degrees F or greater

  1. 1Perform On-Board (OBD) System Check
  2. 2Connect Diagnostic Scan Tool (DST) in system data mode, warm engine to normal operating temperature, and run above 1200 rpm for at least 60 seconds
  3. 3Verify engine coolant temperature is over 220 degrees F with a temperature gauge
  4. 4Repair cooling system
  5. 5Verify ECT Circuit function by following diagnostic test procedure for DTC 217
