BATTERY CHARGE ALTERNATOR FAILURE
UnclassifiedCooling
What This Code Means
Engine stops immediately without cooling; Feeding to the power outputs of the measurement module (starting, pre-heating and engine stopping) is cut; Battery charge alternator failure alarm is triggered; Battery charge alternator failure alarm triggered; Engine fails to start; Starting failure alarm triggered; Immediate engine stop; Low coolant level alarm triggered; Fuel reserve alarm triggered
Possible Causes
- •Emergency stop digital input (EMS) is detected
- •SETA input from the measurement module is triggered
- •Voltage value of the battery charge alternator voltage analog input (DI) does not exceed the voltage threshold of the started engine detection (Thresholds table parameter 21) during the configuration stabilization time
- •DI input threshold reached for the battery charge alternator
- •All starting attempts (configured by Times table parameter 1) during the engine starting cycle are consecutive and non-effective
- •Low coolant level digital input (NA) is activated and validated during the stabilization time
- •Fuel reserve digital input (FR) is activated and validated during the stabilization time
Suggested Actions
- 1Configure EMS digital input as normally open or normally closed (regulations table parameter 11)
- 2For engines programmed with stop by no-excitation, connect the SETA input to earth
- 3Configure the battery charge alternator alarm detection setting (alarms table parameter 10)
- 4Adjust the stabilization time associated with the battery charge alternator low alarm (Alarms table parameter 11)
- 5Verify or alter the battery charge alternator alarm active/inactive configuration (alarms table parameter 12)
- 6Check the alarm before attempting the engine starting process again
