What This Code Means
DST displays IAT voltage greater than the limit set in calibration; Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) ON during active fault; Engine shutdown; ECM uses default value for the IAT sensor
Possible Causes
- •Intermittent Problem
- •Faulty connection to sensor
- •Faulty IAT sensor
- •Open IAT ground (5Vrtn1) circuit
- •Faulty ECM connection
- •Faulty ECM
- •Faulty Harness
- •IAT Sensor Voltage greater than 4.950 volts for 1 second or longer
Suggested Actions
- 1Perform the On-Board (OBD) System Check
- 2Disconnect IAT sensor from harness and jumper across terminal at connector
- 3Jumper IAT sensor signal to ground
- 4Key Off, disconnect wire harness header from ECM, carefully remove yellow lock from header at device output terminal, and check resistance between MAP input at ECM header and signal at device
- 5Perform On-Board (OBD) System Check
- 6Disconnect IAT sensor from harness, jumper across terminal at connector, and check if DST displays IAT voltage of 0.1 or less
- 7Jumper IAT sensor signal to ground and check if DST displays IAT voltage of 0.1 or less
- 8Key Off, disconnect wire harness header from ECM, carefully remove yellow lock from header at device output terminal, and check resistance between MAP input at ECM header and signal at device (do not insert probe into terminals to avoid spreading pins)
- 9Key Off, disconnect wire harness header from ECM, carefully remove yellow lock from header at device output terminal, and check resistance between MAP input at ECM header and signal at device (probe on the side of terminal to avoid spreading pins)
