1. 1Clean aftercooler with pressurized air at less than 205 kPa (30 psi) directed in the opposite direction of the fan's air flow, holding the nozzle approximately 6 mm (0.25 inch) away and moving parallel to the tubes
2. 2Clean aftercooler with pressurized water at less than 275 kPa (40 psi) to soften mud
3. 3Inspect cleanliness by placing a light bulb behind the core
4. 4Open bent fins with a comb
5. 5Perform a leak test on the aftercooler system
6. 6Start and accelerate the engine to high idle rpm to dry the core and remove remaining debris
7. 7Use degreaser and steam to remove oil and grease from both sides of the core
8. 8Wash the core with detergent and hot water, then thoroughly rinse with clean water
