What This Code Means
Control board stops receiving a valid engine speed input signal while running; Engine has not started within the total 90 second crank cycle; Ignition Module detects a fault
Possible Causes
- •Loss of engine speed input signal
- •Overcrank condition
- •Ignition Module fault
Suggested Actions
- 1Close the throttle
- 2Shut down the engine by turning off the fuel supply
- 3Wait for 15 seconds to ensure the engine has stopped
- 4Energize the starter and monitor the engine speed signal
- 5If engine speed signal is not seen, stop crank cycle, lock out on fault, and flash the overspeed LED
- 6If engine speed signal is seen during cranking, start and run the engine normally
- 7If engine speed signal is lost again while running, repeat the procedure one more time
- 8If failure repeats a third time, shut down the engine, lock out on fault, and flash the overspeed LED
- 9Overcrank fault latches and shuts down the engine
- 10Place the AUTO-OFF-MANUAL switch in the “OFF” position to turn off the corresponding fault LED
- 11Ignition Module fault indicator will flash
