Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is ON during active fault; Adaptive learn is disabled
Possible Causes
- •Engine related problem
- •Fuel system related problem
- •Internal fault within the ECM
- •Short to Vbattery in harness
- •UEGO heater control signal is greater than 32V when the heater is switched on
- •UEGO heater element has short
- •UEGO heater supply voltage is greater than 32V
Suggested Actions
- 1Disconnect the harness from the ECM and check the heater control signal (between Pin 3 of the UEGO sensor and Pin 75 of the ECM) for a short to Vbattery using a DMM checking one pin at a time to the positive battery terminal
- 2Disconnect the harness from the UEGO Sensor and ECM and measure the heater resistance with a DMM (between pins 3 and 4 for Bosch sensor)
- 3Perform OBD system check
- 4Perform the On-Board (OBD) System Check
- 5Repair short to Vbattery in harness
- 6Replace ECM
- 7Replace UEGO sensor if heater resistance is less than 0.5 ohms
- 8Verify the operation of the MIL
